If you find a good workaround, please do post it here for others to see. There is an option in the menu - camera stay with OOB move. Some of the HITS MP groups play with 2m camera distance. This give you a freer camera but restricts your view nicely. I can only assume it's an issue that will be fixed eventually, but it was missed before release partly due to the relatively small team involved, where it looks like everybody had a qwerty keyboard. Proper HITS must be enabled in the menu - use a custom difficulty option and set the camera distance to 10m or 20m whatever you like best.
